Hello, My Name is Lisa Fred. The love of caring for skin was something that my grandmother had instilled in me. While working in the Dental field I would often go home and give my sons and my husband facials just for the sheer enjoyment of it. I became much more interested in skincare when I began to have my own skin issues. I was born with normal skin which always looked pretty good and I took it for granted. I started having problems with a sluggish thyroid about 7 years ago when my skin started showing the first signs of aging. I began researching the internet to find out what I could do to help my skin look better and it only became worse. The turning point for me was when I started seeing a Skin Care Therapist in my native Maryland area and found out that I had self-inflicted “over-processed” facial and neck skin. I then found out that this “over-processing” of skin was becoming an epidemic in our society due to the lack of good information on proper skin care.
In 2012 I decided to turn my for skincare passion into a second career. I then enrolled in the Annapolis school of esthetics. After graduating, I decided that I wanted to learn more! I spent the next nine months working at a local country club as an esthetician and attending 85 hours of hands-on continuing education at the International Dermal Institute so I could help others achieve beautiful, glowing skin and to learn to give others the best experience that I could as a Skincare Therapist. This knowledge and experience gave me the tools that I needed to go on working in a fulfilling position for the next couple of years.
My Husband and I vacationed in Charleston in 2014 and fell in love with the beauty, friendliness and the pace of the Low Country and then decided to make Charleston our home. While working at a local spa here in Charleston, some of the clients that I gave treatments to encouraged me to start my own business. I then started Charleston Holistic Skincare.
My years of experience and my education have helped others achieve beautiful, glowing skin. I am so happy to be a part of the Charleston Wellness Center team and look forward to giving individuals the tools and strategies needed to help each person achieve beautiful skin as well and be able to age beautifully, naturally!
I specialize in Anti-aging facials, Relaxing facials, Treatments for type 1 and 2 acne, Rosacea, and Reflexology.
